Easy Maple Tahini Dressing is a five ingredient wonder that can be used as a dip or sauce too! Perfectly sweet, nutty and creamy, and secretly healthy!
Easy Maple Tahini Dressing swooping in to add BIG flavor to our weak.
It is bold and nutty tahini which adds a velvety smooth and very rich texture with the perfect touch of sweetness from the maple, enough dijon mustard to make it zippy and interesting and a touch of apple cider vinegar to brighten it up.
It's cool and creamy and comforting all while being very very healthy. The magical combination of food that your taste buds crave and your body thanks you for eating.
Reasons to love this recipe:
- We've called it a dressing, but this sauce is versatile! Use it as a dip or drizzle, too!
- It keeps in the refrigerator like a dream! Make it once and use it for weeks.
- You'll need just 5 pantry ingredients!
- It's creamy. It's decadent. And it is SUPER healthy. Vegan. Paleo. Gluten free. You name it.
What ingredients are in Maple Tahini Dressing?
- Tahini - since this is the backbone of our recipe, it pays to use a good tahini! And good tahini doesn't have to break the bank. I like Soom or Trader Joe's brands (both of which are less expensive if bought in a grocery store).
- Dijon mustard - for a little bit of welcome tang and complexity.
- Maple syrup - adds the perfect level of sweetness! You could also use honey, agave, or another liquid sweetener.
- Apple cider vinegar - just a touch really brightens the dressing up!
- Salt - always.
- Cold water - cold is key here. With room temperature or warm water, the tahini will seize up and the dressing will become too thick. Cold water has a magical effect that thins out the dressing giving it a perfect consistancy.
How do you make Maple Tahini Dressing?
This recipe is as simple of whisking all the ingredients together in a bowl. Start with everything but the water and whisk until smooth. Slowly add in the cold water, whisking, until you get the perfect thick, but pourable, consistency.
Keep it in the fridge for up to one month!
Ways to enjoy the dressing:
- As a sauce for Falafel.
- In this Cauliflower Lentil Salad.
- Replace the peanut sauce in these Sweet Potato Noodles.
- As a dip for raw veggies or Sweet Potato Fries.
- Drizzled over roasted veggies.
- In a buddha bowl.

I have diabetes. Just wondering what can I use in place of the maple syrup?
Thank you.
Laurel says
Hi Dawn, great question! I would replace the maple syrup with the same amount of water and then add in a couple of drops of liquid stevia to taste. Let me know how it goes!

I've tried lots of tahini sauce recipes over the years and this one is absolutely the best! It's the perfect balance of flavors. It's my go-to sauce for buddha bowls and I make a batch weekly. Thank you for a great recipe!
