Description

This creamy and decadent hojicha latte is made with maple syrup and milk. A low caffeine drink to enjoy any time of day!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 teaspoon hojicha powder
  • 1/4 cup boiling
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 1-3 teaspoons sweetener of choice

Instructions

For a hot latte:

  1. Add the milk and sweetener  to a small saucepan and heat until steaming over medium heat.
  2. Combine the hojicha powder and water in a small bowl and whisk until combined. Pour into your mug.
  3. Top with warm milk and stir to combine. Enjoy!

For an iced latte:

  1. Add ice to your glass.
  2. Combine the hojicha powder and water in a small bowl and whisk until combined. Stir in your sweetener and pour over ice.
  3. Top with cold milk and stir to combine. Enjoy!

Notes

Hojicha powder vs loose leaf tea: I use ground hojicha in this recipe, but you can also brew a latte with loose leaf hojicha. Pour your boiling water over 2-3 teaspoons of loose leaf hojicha and let steep for 5 minutes. Strain, then proceed with the recipe as written.
