Its the most wonderful time of the year
With the kids jingle belling
And everyone telling you be of good cheer
Its the most wonderful time of the year!
"Laurel! You have GOT to stop singinggggg!"
I think I am driving my sister crazy.
Totally crazy.
She's resorted to holding a pillow over her ears to muffle the noise as I sing Christmas song after Christmas song. She is oh, so glad, to have me home for the holidays.
I can't say I blame her. I don't have the voice of an angel. Not by any stretch of the imagination. But I'll tell you what I do have. A killer plate of holiday cookies. This year my holiday cookie spread includes 5 vegan and gluten-free treats, and there is something for everyone. One cookie is raw, another is paleo. Some are total indulgences and others might pass as a breakfast option. Well... I won't tell if you won't. It's the holidays after all!
This year I decided to write a few recipes of my own, as well as feature a few cookies from some of my favorite bloggers. After all, Christmas is about sharing the love. I developed recipes for Peanut Butter Ginger Snaps, Grain-Free Thumbprints with Apple Butter Filling, and Honey Tahini Caramels with Pistachios and Dried Apricots. Alongside my recipes are Gluten-Free Vegan Candy Cane Oreos by Fork and Beans and Raw Pecan Pie, which I formed into mini pie bites, courtesy of This Rawsome Vegan Life. I will be posting each recipe through this next week. Get ready for a cookie coma.
And who can resist these morsels of holiday cheer. No one. Not even sisters who have been traumatized by less than soothing Christmas carols stuck on repeat. Now that I think of it, I could use these as a peace offering. And I could come up with a jingle to go with it! She's sure to forgive me!
