Family Vacay:
Its summer and it's time for family vacation! This year we rolled into Whistler, Canada with car packed to the brim with any item we might possibly need for Sawyer!
If any moms are in packing mode, I can assure you we did not use the backup to the backup diapers or 28 additional onesies. Tell me, when does packing for kids get any easier? Ever?
Shoutout to Canada for ALWAYS having a plant based item on the menu! Food highlights (aka vacation highlights) were Smoked Tofu Lasagna, Halibut with Carrot Harissa, the best Chickpea Tomato Toast of my life, and a silky mint chocolate mousse we picked up at a local grocery store made from cashews and coconut!
Non-food highlights were Sawyer taking his first dunk in the pool, spending quality time with family, and riding the Peak to Peak Gondola.
A big shoutout to our Erogbaby carrier for making this trip possible!
Flavor of the Month:
This Umami Seasoning is straight up magic! It adds mega savory flavor, saltiness, and a little spice kick (very very mild) to any and all veggies. We have been whisking it with a dash of coconut aminos and some oil and then rubbing it on THICK to cauliflower steaks and grilling them on the BBQ.
Do yourself a favor and pick up a two pack. And it also comes in a pack with EBTB seasoning! Gasp!
This Month's Inspiration:
I am pretty much obsessed with every quote Morgan Harper Nichols has written and I have a Pinterest Board to prove it!
I am feeling this one deeply. Motherhood has brought about more worries and joys than I had before. Focusing on being thankful to God for all that He has blessed me with has made those worries fade away. They are still there and always will be, but they are masked by all the joy that worship brings.
Loving Lately:
Caffeine: I've had a long and rocky relationship with caffeine. Luckily, my body seems to be in an "I love caffeine" stage. And with the lack of sleep we have been getting, I am NOT complaining. Recently, Stumptown coffee and Matcha Love have been my weapons of choice. Especially in this Lavender Matcha Latte and this Oil Free Bulletproof.
Ergobaby: I mentioned it above, but during vacation, this carrier was my right hand man! Every soft carrier I have tried has hurt my back, but I can Ergo all day. If Sawyer needs to catch some z's, we face him inward towards our chest and he is out like a light. He is now just big enough to face outward too and has been loving taking in all the sights.
Orgain Protein Powder: I have been blending up as many smoothies as possible during this summer heat! And this protein powder takes the cake in my book. The texture, flavor, amount of superfoods and price are all on point! I'm not proud of it, but I have even eaten this powder off a spoon. It's that good!
My current smoothie of choice is frozen berries, frozen cauliflower, frozen spinach, with two scoops protein, and almond milk blended up into a thick smoothie bowl. Topped with cacao nibs, toasted coconut, and a drizzle of PB. Heaven.
Thanks for sticking with me for another Taste of Life! I love chatting with you guys.

That smoothie sounds YUMMY. I'm so glad you got away on vacation--how fun! Sawyer is CUTE.
Packing does get easier. When? Probably depends on the mom and child[ren] and the specific adventure. ;) But it TOTALLY gets easier past diaper and consistent blow-out/spit-up phases.
