This homemade Energizing Green Tea Eye Mask will de-puff your eyes and reduce the visibility of bags! It is made with just 3 simple and non toxic ingredients.
Back today with some more strange stuff to put on your face. This time, an Energizing Green Tea Eye Mask. Have you heard of an eye mask before? Until recently, this beauty phenomenon had escaped me. I had heard of face masks before, but I had always left a wide mask-free ring around my under-eye area, leaving the delicate skin only for creams.
And for good reason, most masks are too harsh for this area. If it is a face mask, I recommend maintaining that wide mask-free ring. However, if it is specially formulated for your eye area, slather it on, girl.
Our under-eye area is a more delicate skin type, creating the need for a completely different kind of mask. This area needs to be treated with products that are especially nourishing and moisturizing for this delicate skin. You want to avoid anything that is drying, detoxing, or overly tightening. Any of which can stretch out your under-eye skin and lead to, gulp, wrinkles.
But this Energizing Green Tea Eye Mask will leave your bags de-puffed, moisturized, and less visible thanks to the power of a few key ingredients.
The key ingredients in this Energizing Green Tea Eye Mask are:
Pure aloe vera gel is the base of our Energizing Green Tea Eye Mask. More than just a sun burn soother, aloe is incredibly moisturizing. Just be sure to buy Pure aloe vera gel
, as most grocery store varieties contain dyes, fragrances, and fillers - nome of which will do our faces any favors.
Raw honey just might be the cure all for what ails your face. The benefit we are tapping into with this mask is its anti-aging properties. Honey is loaded with antioxidants that nourish the skin and prevent the signs of aging. Under-eye wrinkles, I am looking at you.
Matcha green tea powder will energize and tighten your under-eye area, banishing your early morning bags. Or, if you're me, all day bags. The caffeine helps to gently constrict the skin, having a de-puffing effect. The antioxidants in the green tea don't hurt our cause either! They will nourish the skin and like the honey, reduce signs of aging.
When you apply this Energizing Green Tea Eye Mask, a few things will happen:
- You will, first and foremost, look like a crazy person with green under eyes. I recommend scaring each and every small child with your hauntingly green face.
- You will begin to feel your eyes tighten and de-puff. Once this sensation happens, you will want to immediately remove the eye mask. There is no need to leave this on past the 3-5 minute mark. We want to treat our under-eye skin very gently. Remove the Energizing Green Tea Eye Mask before it completely dries with a soft towel and warm water.
- Upon washing off the mask your eyes will be tight, de-puffed, and ready for the day!

Hi Majken! I hope you enjoy :)
I used aloe vera from the plant out the front of my house, which seemed to work ok in blending with the honey... until I added the green tea. I couldn't find any matcha green tea at home, so I just used green tea from a regular tea bag which had interesting results. In the end it looked like one of those strange concoctions I made as a kid with my siblings. It smells and feels great on my skin though!
