Lavender Linen Spray and Bath Soak are easy DIY recipes that can promote relaxation, reduce stress, and promote restful sleep.

I recently went through the mid-twenty something phase where every time I opened my social media, it was wedding time for one of my friends. Anyone else out there? There were a good few years of constant winter engagement photos followed by summer wedding pictures, all accompanied with an inventive hashtag to chronicle the couples nuptials.
Now-a-days, I have entered into a different social media phase, one with less ring pics and more baby bumps. Bring on those cute baby photos! No offense to my white-dressed besties, but baby pics are on another level.
Quite a few of my friends have entered the land of parenthood. And when one of my absolute bests recently had her baby, I jumped on the idea of sending her a handmade care package featuring my Lavender Linen Spray and Bath Soak.
I have one verrrrry important thing to admit.
I am not a mom. I get too cuddle, play with, and then hand all adorable babies back to their parents, who are super heros in my book. They do all the tough stuff like changing diapers, soothing cries, and waking up 10 plus times a night to always tend to everything their new little one needs, all while making sure the house is clean, cooking dinner, and crushing a full-time career. My biggest achievement is keeping a plant alive for the past 3 months, so it is pretty clear how much I admire my friends who are new parents.
This Lavender Linen Spray and Bath Soak is my one small gift to try and make their lives just a smidgen easier. I know that sleepless nights can be a regular thing, but this Lavender Linen Spray and Bath Soak attempts to make new parents sleep sweeter when they finally have the chance to hit the sheets.
The Lavender Linen Spray and Bath Soak both contain essential oils that can help to relax new parents and prepare them for more restful sleep, even when that might be only 2 hour increments at a time.
Lavender is the prime fragrance in both of these easy recipes. It is the holy grail of natural sleep aids. It can help those who struggle with sleep to relax and fall asleep faster. It can even relax nervous tension and reduce stress.
Vetiver essential oil is also added to both our Lavender Linen Spray and Bath Soak. Vetiver has a deep, herbal note that pairs perfectly with lavender and helps round out the fragrance. Like lavender, vetiver is a sedative that can promote sleep. It also reduces stress and soothes anxiety.
Vetiver combined with lavender is a one-two punch that will give new parents their best chance at a restful sleep.
This gift wouldn't be complete without a card. I am an old soul trapped in a twenty-something body and literally jump for joy when I get a card in the mail, especially when it is a surprise. And I know I am not the only one! There is just something so good about a well made card with a special handwritten note.
I am always on the hunt for a high quality card to send, and my shop of choice to find these one-of-a-kind gems is Target. I always find myself lost in the card section of the store because they have so many good options. I had about five great baby cards in my basket, but when I saw this chic Bébé, I knew it was the one.
When sending a DIY gift, I like to include instructions on how to use it. We have all been the recipient of a DIY gift without a tag. I once received a package from a neighbor, of what looked to be a very nice homemade lotion. About a week and many uses later, I learned that it was actually paw cream for my two pups. After that, I have always used the inside flap of greeting cards to write out instructions, lest someone else steal prized paw cream from their furry friends. Which, did indeed double as a great lotion.
For the linen spray, just before bedtime, spritz each pillow two to three times, and adjust up or down as needed. You want the scent to be soothing, but not overpowering.
For the bath soak, draw a warm bath just before bedtime, or anytime you are looking to destress. Add in 1 cup of the soak and stir it to dissolve into the water. Relax and enjoy the aromas.
