Is 2014 over already? Man, did it fly by. It was my first year blogging, and it was tons of fun. I learned so much about food styling, photography, and web design. I say goodbye to 2014 with fond memories, and I am so excited to get onto 2015! My resolutions: practice, practice, practice my food photography and stop using the microwave (breaking bad college habits). I will be taking a photography class for the month of January and I am oh so excited. Hopefully photos around here will be on the up. Speaking of things to get excited about, here are your 5 most popular recipes from 2014. Hope you enjoy!
Number 1: Grilled Fiesta Salad
This is such a fun and delicious salad! Sweet corn, bright tomatillios, and earthy peppers get grilled for a flavor explosion. The only thing that could rival the flavors in this salad would be the beautiful colors from all of those veggies.
Number 2: Summer Kale Salad
Isn't this one a looker, and tasty to boot! The strawberries are a fun twist in a kale salad and really up the flavor factor. Lentils are added for protein, and because they are gosh darn good tasting. Hazelnuts add crunch and the kale packs some serious nutrition.
Number 3: Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Dough Bites
These bites mighty be small, but they are BIG on flavor. They taste just like an oatmeal raisin cookie in sticky cookie dough form. I love these as a mid-day snack. Packed with nutrition, they never fail to hold me over till dinner.
Number 4: Date Caramel Sauce
Carmel sauce made with just dates, coconut oil, and alt-milk this recipe is both nourishing and dessert worthy. I drizzle some onto vegan ice cream and fresh fruit or fill mini chocolate cups with this caramel-y goodness.
Number 5: Honey Tahini Caramels with Apricots & Pistachios
Caramel that is vegan and made out of whole foods?! Is that possible? The answer is yes, and they are delicious. The secret: honey and tahini. I like to add pistachios and dried apricots for extra flavor and texture, but feel free to add your own favorite mix-ins.
Wishing you all a food filled 2015.
