This Cardamon Rose Facial Grain Scrub is a gentle exfoliating scrub for all skin types! It will leave your skin smooth, soft, and soothed and is made with natural, non-toxic ingredients.
This Cardamon Rose Facial Grain Scrub smells like heaven.
It also leaves your face buttery soft and gently exfoliated.
And it's easy to make with items that could already be already lurking in your pantry, which makes this recipe non-toxic beauty at its finest.
The base of this scrub is rice flour. Rice flour is milled into a soft grain that is perfect for exfoliating. Its fine texture makes it ideal. Small enough to hug the surface of our skin and blast away all dead skin. It is also much gentler than most store bought exfoliating scrubs with their large beads that can actually scratch skin and cause inflammation. Rice can also absorb excess oil and leave your skin balanced.
Baking soda is added to the rice flour for its powerful cleaning abilities. Baking soda can help banish pesky blackheads and can balance the PH of our skin.
Your grain scrub is ready to use here, but we fancy it up with a few special ingredients that make this Cardamon Rose Facial Grain Scrub a spa worthy experience. First, cardamom adds fragrance, but also increases circulation to speed up healing of any zits or discoloration. Rose petals can help remove oil and dirt buildup and reduces redness.
Extra optional are essential oils to make this smell fantastic and provide further benefits! I used geranium and ylang ylang to perfume this scrub.
Literally all that you have to do to make this scrub is stir everything together. If you are using the rose petals, they just need a quick 2 second whirl in a spice grinder to turn them into a powder. Once made, this super scrub can be placed in a jar and is ready and waiting any time you need a good scrub. I exfoliate 1-2 times per week, and always before I use a face mask.
To make the scrub from the prepared powder, you have a few options depending on your skin.
My personal fave is to mix this powder with raw honey. I add just enough honey to be able to easily glide the mixture over my face. Honey is great for all skin types. It can help clear up zits, and moisturize away rough patches.
For dry skin, you can mix this scrub with your regular moisturizer. Then scrub, rinse and continue on with your skincare routine. This is even gentler and will give your skin extra needed moisture.
If you have oily skin, try mixing the scrub with a gental toner. This will balance tour skins PH and reduce excess oil, resulting in extra clean and fresh skin.
And of course, you can always use good old H2O. Just mix enough with the scrub to make a paste, exfoliate, and go!
