Peppermint Frosted Brownies are swooping in to save the holidays!

And there are two very important reasons why:

These brownies are festive, decadent, and downright delicious. They easily look like you spent hours in the kitchen. But, the secret: they come in a box. And not just any box. These brownies are from Simple Mills, which leads me to point two...

A bite out of a peppermint frosted brownie.

They also happen to be grain free, naturally gluten free, and made with the highest quality whole foods.

And in my family—where half of us are gluten free, the other half dairy free, with a few paleo eaters and a couple of vegetarians thrown in the mix—this is truly a lifesaver.

I know that no matter who is coming over, I can whip up a batch of brownies in no time. Brownies that anyone can eat and everyone will love.

How to make Peppermint Frosted Brownies:

Buckle up, friends, you will not believe how easy this recipe is.

  1. Grab your @SimpleMills brownie mix and follow the baking instructions on the back of the box.
  2. Pop the top off the @SimpleMills vanilla frosting and stir in some peppermint extract.
  3. Once the brownies have cooled, dollop on the frosting and spread it edge to edge.

Garnish with a few fresh mint leaves and mini chocolate chips for some flair, and pass the brownie tray around.

Baked and frosted peppermint brownies.

Bonus: all the ingredients for our Peppermint Frosted Brownies can be picked up on a weekly Target run.

Toss the Simple Mills Brownie Mix into your cart. Grab a can of their Vanilla Frosting in the baking isle. Nestle a bottle of peppermint extract in right next to the new face mask you snagged.

(Or alternatively, you can order everything online! Thank you @Target for that free 2-day shipping. You get us. You truly get us.)

You now have the ingredients for a wholesome dessert you can feel good about.

And I really mean feel GOOD. Not just this-is-kinda-better-for-me good but good good. Simple Mills Brownies are be full of enough rich chocolate flavor and melty chocolate chips to entice every brownie connoisseur around, and they manage to pull this off while still using simple whole foods and nothing artificial. Ever.

Case in point: the brownies are coconut sugar sweetened, the frosting has half the sugar of other brands, and mamma is one happy brownie eating camper.

And so is every holiday visitor.
