Hi guys! June is an exciting month for the blog. It marks one year of blogging, recipe developing, and photo taking. It was a year full of learning. So full I thought I would explode at times, but so so good. Looking back over the year, it is incredibly exciting to see what this blog has become. From a few page views a day to thousands a month, its growth has astonished me. Thank you to each and every one of you for taking the time to stop by, it means the world knowing that my little corner of the web is being viewed.
In honor of the anniversary, I thought I would share the top recipes from one year of blogging (don't worry, a celebratory cake post is coming soon!). Each of these recipes have gotten thousands of views and many have been featured across the web. These include some of my absolute favorites as well. I hope you enjoy!
Number One: Chilled Asparagus Soup
Meet the number one most popular recipe on my blog. Fresh asparagus meets rich avocado to make an incredibly creamy, yet light, spring soup. This cold take on the winter classic is perfect for the warmer days ahead.
Number Two: Potato Taquitos
At first I was intimidated by taquitos. How was I ever going to roll those brittle corn tortillas without ending up with a crumbly mess!? This recipe contains a trick on how to avoid a taquito rolling disaster. I am promising perfect rolls every time.
Number Three: Lavender Lemonade
This is the perfect summer-afternoon-porch-swing-sitting drink. The lavender gives this summer sipper winning color and unique flavor. I use this recipe when I want to impress guests with a twist on traditional lemonade. This recipe won't send your blood sugar to high heavens with a sugar spike since it is sweetened with Stevia.
Number Four: Date Caramel Sauce
An oldie but a goodie, this recipe was one of the first up on the blog and continues to generate a lot of traffic. It is a bit of an indulgence, but everyone needs a good caramel sauce. Bonus points since this recipe is based on whole food ingredients.
Number Five: Whole Grain Artisan Loaf
This one right here is my pride and joy. The fact that it made it in the top five recipes of all time on the blog proves that the months of testing that went into creating this loaf were worth it. This is the only gluten-free and vegan bread that I have tried so far that has a genuine artisan taste and texture. This warm whole-grain country style loaf has become a house staple and I bake it weekly.
