Green Garden Sauce! The freshest, healthiest, most flavorful all purpose sauce around. Made with avocado and herbs. Perfect for pasta, as a dip, and a spread.
Welcome to the last days of summer and welcome to Green Garden Sauce!
If I had to give this sauce a "flavor" it would be Straight Outta the Garden Summer.
It's a magical combination of avocado, basil, cilantro, parsley, spinach, and lemon that come together in the perfect combo. It's bright, herby, lemony, and light. But also creamy and rich and fresh fresh fresh.
This ingredient combo gets tossed into the food processor and whirled around until the sauce is creamy and smooth but still has little flecks of herby goodness stirred throughout.
It ends up like part pesto, part cream sauce, and completely delicious.
While Green garden Sauce tastes like Summer, I usually use it to spice up dishes all year long!
It is the perfect summer appetizer when served with veggies and crackers. It is equally as delightful tossed with hot steamy pasta and served on a cold winters night in.
Even more ways to enjoy Green Garden Sauce:
- toss it with some al dente brown rice pasta for a quick week night meal
- spread it on toast
- eat it as a dip with crackers
- the perfect condiment when slathered on a sandwich or loaded veggie burger

Description
Green Garden Sauce! The freshest, healthiest, most flavorful all purpose sauce around. Made with avocado and herbs. Perfect for pasta, as a dip, and a spread.
Ingredients
- 1 avocado
- 2 cups loosely packed herbs and greens (I usually do a ½ cup each basil, spinach, cilantro, and parsley - but any combo will work)
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons water (as needed to thin out the sauce)
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Combine all of the ingredients in a food processor fitted with the S blade. Process on high until the sauce is smooth, scraping down the sides as necessary to fully incorporate all of the ingredients. The sauce will store in an airtight container in the fridge for several days.

Thank you Vanessa! I really enjoyed it on sandwiches :) I recently discovered that it also works great as a dip for veggies and crackers.
