October! My favorite month of the year. The sun is still shining, the leaves are a dozen shades of orange, yellow, and red, there are apples to be picked, pumpkin spice lattes to be drank, and sweaters to be worn!
It is the perfect mix of still-barely-there-Summer and being taken over by Fall. Bliss!
Family Vacation:
It's that time again! Actually a bit later than usual do to, you know, COVID, but family vacation happened and it was a blast! We took a few days off to go to San Juan Island, Washington. We stayed at Snug Harbor Resort (recommend!), ate at Duck Soup (a must!) and enjoyed a slower pace by the water.

Craving all things Fall:
Tell me, is anything better than apple and pumpkin season?!
We wen't apple picking early this month and my apple-a-day-habit has already whipped out my stash. That as well as constantly cooking up apple recipes like this Gluten Free Apple Crisp, Brussel Sprout Apple Bake, Acorn Squash with Sage Apple Stuffing and more!
And on the subject of pumpkin, a few older favorite recipes just got a major refresh with new photos, a video, and more helpful post. If you haven't seen them yet, check out the new and improved Gluten Free Pumpkin Bread, Caramel Pumpkin Spice Latte, and Gluten Free Pumpkin Muffins. They will not disappoint!
Quote of the month:
This year has felt like a lot of small steps, both forward and (even larger steps) backward. But in the midst of this crazy year I am amazed that I can still look back and see forward movement. Those small steps added up.
And maybe our forward movement isn't with work, but it's with the additional meaningful moments we've had with our kids.
It's the big win for the time we didn't snap at our significant others while working/parenting/cleaning/everything together from home.
The extra time we carved out for ourselves to read a book or a devotional.
How we stuck with a workout program even when it hurt.
This year has had lots of steps in both directions, and it's good, no necessary, to look at those little steps and count our wins, but and small.
Loving lately:
Enjoying holiday coffees at home with Vimco Collagen Coffee and Nutpods Winter Collection of creamers. The combo of this coffee and any of the creamers is unreal! Currently having 1-2 a day.
Muesli! It's having a moment in our house. Stirred into yogurt or served with almond milk, this has become our go-to breakfast from our go-to brand.
These nontoxic essential oil scented candles have been burning nonstop. Perfect for that cozy fall feeling.
Binge watching Dream Home Makeover on Netflix. I have been a longtime follower of Studio McGee and have loves watching them in action. I have several pieces from their shop and am (not so) patiently waiting for their new book to arrive.
