5 Minute Chipotle Sauce is smoky, sweet, creamy, and spicy! Perfect for adding flavor to burgers, sandwiches, fries and more!

You know those back-pocket sauces that make anything and everything better? This chipotle sauce is mine. It hits all the flavor notes. It's smokey thanks to our chipotle peppers, sweet from a touch of agave, bright from a squeeze of lime and perfectly creamy.

Dip it, dunk it, spread it, slather it. You CAN'T go wrong!

Reasons to love this recipe:

  • Comes together in 5 minutes with one bowl!
  • Keeps in the fridge for several weeks... if you can get it to last that long!
  • Can be gluten free, vegan, and paleo.

Ingredients to make this recipe:

  • Mayonnaise - you can use vegan mayo or paleo mayo for dietary restrictions
  • Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce - For this recipe we will use the sauce from the can, not the peppers themselves. If you are sensitive to spice, start small and work your way up.
  • Lime juice - freshly squeezed is the only way to go.
  • Agave - or use honey or maple syrup
  • Salt - a pinch to bring all the flavors together

What are chipotle peppers in adobo sauce?

Chipotle peppers in adobe sauce are one of my favorite pantry staples! They are smoked jalapeno peppers canned in a sweet and tangy red sauce. They are equal parts smoky and spicy and add complex flavor to so many dishes!

You can order them online or find them at you local grocery store (in the international isle) or Mexican market.

How to make Chipotle Sauce:

This recipe is about as simple as it gets. Add all the ingredients to a bowl and stir to combine. Taste and adjust spice level adding more chipotle if desired.

Store any extra sauce in a lidded container for 1-2 weeks.

How to serve this sauce:

  • The perfect appetizer or side with fries! Or sweet potato fries.
  • As a dreamy sauce on these potato tacos.
  • And a dip for these taquitos.
  • Use it to jazz up burgers or sandwiches.
  • Drizzled over this hash.
  • And on these potato bowls!
